Investigating the role and place of NGOs in social relations

The present study addresses the role and position of non-governmental organizations in the social structure of the society. These organizations despite their long history in the Iranian society and the institutionalization of their activities, have failed to find their true position in social relations on the one hand and interaction with the political system and executive management on the other hand. This issue can be associated with multiple factors.
The main point is that serious efforts should be accompanied with explaining the goals, qualities and roles of these organizations and the position of organizations should be attained in the society legally. The major problem facing the development and institutionalization of the activities and operations of NGOs is the absence of a proper mechanism and integrity in dealing with these organizations in the executive and decision-making system.
