Evaluation of the role of using modern communication tools on youth cultural identity

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of using modern communication tools on youth cultural identity. The method of compilation of this paper is based on the applied-development research method and the descriptive-analytic study method. The statistical population of this research is 15-35 year old youth in Islamabad, West. The statistical population is 17,000 people. The sample size was 384 based on the Cochran formula. The test is used to analyze Pearson data. The results indicated that in general, we have a reverse relationship between the new communication tools and cultural identity (correlation coefficient is -0.345) and significant (0.03). In fact, with the increase in the use of modern communication tools, the cultural cultural identity of young people will be undermined and reduced. On the other hand, there is a significant negative relationship between all subcategories of cultural identity (language, customs and religion) with the new communication tools, with a significant amount (0.331-0.285, -0.229) . In fact, with the increase in the use of modern communication tools, the language of young people is subject to alterations and undesirable changes, and traditional and proper customs also place themselves in the traditional and non-native traditions, and even the religion and their religious tendencies are also reduced will find.
