A Comparative Study on the Relationship between Addiction to Virtual Spaces and Identity Styles with Social Development of Secondary Students of the Second Period

Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between addiction to virtual spaces and identity styles with social development. This descriptive-correlational study was conducted in Zahedan in 1396. The population of the study consisted of 6000 secondary school students and the sample size was 140 people using Morgan table. The sampling method is available. In this research, data were gathered through three questionnaires: virtual space addiction, identity style and social development. Data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation, t-test and correlation using spss-19 software. Findings of the research indicate that addiction to virtual spaces and boys' identity styles is more than girls. The social development of girls is more than boys. Correlation coefficient does not show any significant difference between boys and girls in the three variables at p <0.05.
